Lawrence Township board approves $5.73 million GMP for Crestview Elementary addition

The Metropolitan School District of Lawrence Township board voted to approve a guaranteed maximum price (GMP) contract to Davis and Associates for the Crestview Elementary room addition.
Roger Smith told the board that bids received on March 27 produced a GMP proposal from Davis and Associates of $5,731,457 and that the total project cost, including hard and soft costs, was estimated at about $7,000,000. "Bids came in at estimated cost, good competitive bids," Smith said, and recommended the board approve the contract as presented.
A board member moved the recommendation and it was seconded; the board approved the contract on a voice vote. The chair called for "All in favor?" and the board responded "Aye" with "None opposed." The motion was recorded as passed.
The board's facilities update earlier in the meeting noted renovation progress at multiple sites, including new serving lines at Belzer, demolition and rebuild in band and orchestra rooms, gym work at Fall Creek Valley, roofing and HVAC work staged at several elementary schools, and finishing work at the new LECC and boardroom lobby.
No detailed roll-call tally was read during the voice vote; the board will proceed with contract execution and construction scheduling.
