Conservation commission pauses Blue Wave solar presentation; Select Board hears report

The speaker said the commission received a “well attended and spirited discussion” and that many residents raised concerns about wetlands, potential battery storage risks and threats to the aquifer.
Because of those concerns, the Conservation Commission voted to continue the hearing and to commission a peer review. The project was described in the meeting as roughly 40 acres with about 22 fenced acres and approximately 9,500 solar panels. The board discussed providing a one‑page roadmap on the town website so residents could follow the permitting path (zoning board, ZBA, or other jurisdictional steps) and better understand when ownership and panel details will be addressed.
No permit decision or final action was taken by the Select Board at this meeting; the Conservation Commission’s motion to continue the public hearing and require a peer review remains pending and will be considered at a future session where the commission presents the peer‑review results.
