The Taylor School District Board of Education voted Aug. 7 to appoint Corey Morris to fill a vacant board seat for the remainder of a partial term ending Dec. 31, 2026.
Chair moved and the motion was seconded; the board voted 5–0 (one member absent) to approve the appointment. The chair said Morris will take his seat at the next board meeting and will be sworn in ceremonially on Aug. 21.
Morris, joining online because he had been exposed to COVID, thanked the board. "But thank you for the nomination, and I look forward to working with all of you," he said.
Board members thanked the two interviewees who applied for the position and noted the district will complete a ceremonial oath at the August meeting.
