Gwinn Area Community Schools bond plans add gym, 3,000‑sq‑ft CTE wing and secure health vestibule

He described the new gym as including a gate area to the ball fields and integrated concession and restroom facilities that will be built into the structure so they do not need seasonal draining and can support both outdoor field events and indoor gym use.
Boettcher said the district’s existing press box has been condemned and will be removed. “The concessions, the toilets, and the press box will have to be taken down and removed, and a new press box only will be put up since the toilets and concessions are part of the gymnasium addition,” he said.
The project also includes a roughly 3,000‑square‑foot addition for career and technical education (CTE) and business programs. Boettcher said the new CTE/business wing will be built adjacent to the existing trades facility because current classrooms in the academic wing lack the necessary volume for planned activities.
Finally, Boettcher outlined a security‑driven change at the health center: a small secure entry vestibule to separate health‑center visitors from the main school. “The health center services, people up to 27 years old, and currently, anybody up the street going to the health center has access into the school. We wanna make sure that is securely locked down and that people have to be buzzed into the school from the health center through that vestibule,” he said.
