The Clintondale Community Schools board approved a series of personnel and financial items during the meeting, including multiple resignations and committee assignments.
Consent items included resignation acknowledgements for Marina Palley and Brenda Blue (motion carried 5-0). Non-consent items approved by vote included acceptance of resignations for Loriana Acana (teacher; effective 08/28/2024, per email dated 02/14/2024), Don Mas (teacher; effective 06/30/2024, per email dated 02/13/2024), Valerie Zabel (teacher; effective 06/14/2024, per email dated 02/21/2024) and Alice Franke (teacher; effective 03/22/2024, per email dated 04/01/2024). Each motion was moved and supported and the roll-call votes recorded the motions as carrying 5-0.
The chair announced completion of committee assignments and named negotiating committee leadership (attorney as first chair, superintendent as second chair and three board members as negotiators). The superintendent stated that staff replacement after resignations would be considered based on enrollment, budget and needs rather than automatic reposting.
The board also approved bills ending 03/28/2024 by roll call (motion carries 5-0) and adjourned the meeting at 7:43 p.m.
Next steps: Administrators will evaluate staffing needs against enrollment and budget before posting replacements; finance committee will continue budget discussions after the 15th of the month.
