The Laurel School District Board approved a resolution declaring certain parcels and materials “abandoned, obsolete or undesirable and unsuitable for school purposes” in specified districts after a motion by Chris and a second by Jenny.
Julie noted for transparency that the published notice in the paper will include top items and that the district website will carry the full list of materials (including textbooks, workbooks and library books) slated for disposition. The three donated books currently in district possession will remain off the circulation shelf until they complete the formal approval process at a future meeting; Matt said he believes the books are intended for the high school.
Administrators delivered routine informational reports: transportation staff confirmed the new RAV bus is expected by month’s end, and a board member thanked staff for on-time routes; food-services discussion included confirmation that free meals will be provided to students in kindergarten through fourth grade. Financial and principal reports were presented as informational items.
