The Denville Township Board of Education approved a set of routine personnel and contract items and authorized submission of a major amendment to the district’s Long Range Facilities Plan.
Mister Capello moved that the board approve personnel items 1–11, which included resignations, pay changes, staffing for the Denville Accelerated Learning Academy (DALA), an approved leave of absence, corrections to an employee identification number (D0001077), mentor–mentee assignments and stipend reimbursements, and appointment of a substitute for 2024–25. The motion was seconded and carried on a roll-call vote; board members recorded in the roll call as voting “yes” were Doctor Moore; Missus Sadelis; Mister Cass; Mister Anderson; Mister Capello; and Mister Kim.
Mister Anderson moved approval of a 2024–25 contract with St. Clair Behavioral Health to perform back-to-school evaluations at a rate of $250 per evaluation for students referred by the district; the motion was seconded and approved by roll call.
Under operations, the board approved a design change notice from EI Associates in the amount of $2,805. Board members clarified that the change order relates to a toilet project (the agenda language initially misidentified the item as a sidewalk project) and took a corrective roll call after the clerical change.
The board also voted to authorize EI Associates to submit a major amendment to the district Long Range Facilities Plan (LRFP), a statutorily required five-year update to ensure facility planning and project applications remain current. The administration said the amendment will be submitted to the New Jersey Department of Education and that a later report will be presented to the board after state review.
The motions recorded at the meeting were routine, described by board leadership as necessary to keep district operations and compliance timelines on schedule. Several items (notably certain operations quotes for chemical disposal and boiler repair) were presented as items that will be moved for approval at the next board meeting rather than voted on at this session.
Next steps: the district will proceed with the LRFP submission to the state, present reports as the state review completes, and bring remaining finance and operations contracts back for vote at a subsequent meeting.
