Belcourt — The Belcourt School Board voted to approve multiple personnel and consultant agreements, including a $49,500 med‑management consultant contract and a contract to reengage a culture teacher for the district preschool.
Staff presented a consultant agreement for Jennifer Keplin and 7 Stones to provide med‑management and some therapy services at the high school. "The recommended action is to approve the consultant agreement in the amount of $49,500 utilizing ISET consultant and state Title IV funds," staff stated during the presentation; board members clarified the contract covers roughly October through May and about 22 hours per month.
Separately, the board approved a consultant agreement to hire Dakota Gunville as the Tiny Turtles preschool culture teacher to provide Ojibwe language and cultural instruction. The presenter noted strong student engagement last year, including preschoolers singing Ojibwe songs at graduation.
In personnel action, HR director Levi brought forward a recommendation to hire Lisa Nurbel for a PSN teacher vacancy; the board moved and approved the hire in roll call votes.
All motions were carried on roll calls recorded during the meeting. Staff said the med‑management contract would be uploaded to the district files and that services are contracted to supplement existing school health supports.
