The vendor will also upgrade the city’s cameras to 4K. The chief said the contract is automatically renewable and runs through 2031, after which the council can revisit terms.
A resident asked what percentage of ticket revenue the city receives. The chief said he could not provide a precise percentage on the floor, noting that state allocations and other statutory payments reduce the city’s share; he referred the resident to a recent report that breaks down how revenue is distributed between state-mandated pools and local accounts.
Council approved the contract by voice vote.
Staff said the negotiated reduction comes from ongoing vendor discussions and will reduce operating costs for the program; staff will provide more detailed revenue‑share accounting in the city's regular financial reports.
