East Rockaway board approves personnel appointments and authorizes iFLY STEM trip rider

Specific approvals announced by the presiding officer included the probationary appointment of Lindsey Maleska as a school counselor with an effective date of Aug. 28, 2025; the short-term substitute teacher assignment for Brooke DeJulio beginning May 5, 2025 and continuing on or about June 30, 2025; a substitute teacher aide appointment for Matthew Horcher pending civil-service approval; concert supervision assignments effective May 14, 2025 for staff including Lauren Ball, Michelle Piccolo, Robert Loraco and Patricia Manganaro; and building supervision assignments effective May 14, 2025 for Theresa Garcia and Angela Christendaro.
The board also approved a rider for the iFLY STEM trip scheduled for May 25, 2025 and authorized the president of the Board of Education to sign the rider. Mrs. Salufo moved the motion to approve the personnel schedules and other items and Mr. Flores seconded; the presiding officer called the vote, members answered "Aye," and the motion was approved as reflected in the meeting record.
No individual objections or abstentions were recorded in the transcript in connection with these approvals. Later in the evening the board recessed to reconvene for a 7:00 p.m. budget hearing and subsequently entered executive session to discuss contract negotiations.
