Board approves expanded concussion policy to add return-to-learn procedures districtwide

The revisions align with state guidance and were noted to include language on both return-to-play and return-to-learn steps.
Trustees asked whether the regulation language could be adjusted now to include all students instead of returning later for a separate regulation revision; the superintendent said the regulation language will be reviewed and brought back for any necessary surgical edits. Trustee Molly moved to approve a revised effective date for Policy 550 and the motion passed by voice vote.
Next steps: district staff will deliver the planned training for school health staff, review the regulation language for consistency with the policy, and return with any needed adjustments.
