South Orange-Maplewood Board moves into executive session to discuss negotiations

Board members present for the special session included Jeff Bennett; Deirdre Brown; Elizabeth Callahan; board president Nubia Duval Wilson; Regina Eckert; Bill Gifford; Bill Bridal Kapadia; Will Meyer; and Sheena Saket Gable. The clerk and staff confirmed no members of the public had signed up to speak, and the chair said the board would skip public comment and the board president’s statement.
The chair asked for a second to the motion; board member Regina Eckert seconded. After asking “All in favor?” the chair stated the motion carried and adjourned the public portion of the meeting. The chair then instructed participants to move to the separate calendar link for the executive session.
The board announced it will meet again in public session on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. The chair said “Action will be taken” at that meeting.
Because the session moved into executive session for negotiations, no details of that discussion were released in the public record during this meeting.
