Board approves several consent items, amended treasurer reports and academic-calendar amendment

At its March 13 meeting, the Tri‑Valley Board of Education carried several routine and pulled consent items by hand votes after limited discussion.

The chair moved to approve the consent agenda with exceptions; members pulled items 11 a, b, d and e and personnel item 13 a for separate consideration. The board discussed the Sullivan BOCES invoice (11a) and a DEI billing code used to record mandatory DASA training. After an explanation that BOCES had billed the session under DEI codes, the board approved item 11a unanimously.

Board members then reviewed amended treasurer's reports for July, August and September 2024. Finance staff said the amendments address uncashed checks that had not been recorded properly, which required cascading corrections across months but did not materially change overall financials. Members asked line‑item questions about coding for aides; administration said the total dollars were not materially different and coding fixes are underway. The board approved the amended reports by hand vote.

The board also approved an amendment to the 2025–26 academic calendar (removing a conference day originally scheduled for Feb. 13 and extending the Memorial Day weekend) and established an extracurricular account for the chess club; both motions passed unanimously.
