At the Jan. 13 meeting the Rome City School District Board of Education approved its consent agenda and a series of resolutions covering contracts, donations and personnel matters.
Among the items the board approved by voice vote were an amended contract using BOCES cross-contracting for strategic-planning support services with an amended total not to exceed $89,001.96; acceptance of several donations from local businesses to support school programs; and a negotiated tax certiorari settlement for Savina USA (formerly East Coast Olive Oil Corp.) that sets property assessments for future years as described in the resolution.
The board also accepted the Reserve Management Plan presented previously, approved several personnel resolutions (retirements, unpaid internships for college students, and tenure for two teachers), and approved the district treasurer contract for the 2024–25 fiscal year. Policy adoptions scheduled for second reading were approved, and the board authorized the superintendent to attend a conference in La Jolla, California, in March 2025 at no cost to the district.
All motions were moved and seconded on the record and carried by voice vote; the transcript shows unanimous 'Aye' responses on the motions recorded during the meeting.
Details of the most substantive items will be added to the district’s minutes and posted per normal procurement and disclosure practices.
