The board’s proclamation, read by the Chair, named Malik Abdulwali, Jahi Glover, Ben Obachina and Kelly Banks as students of the month. The nominations came from Euclid High School principal Corey Russell; the recognition cited the students’ leadership organizing the school’s Candyland Winter Wonderland event and said CTE automation and robotics students contributed technical work—designing, troubleshooting, wiring and programming—so that the project applied coursework to a real-world setting. "These are our students of the month," the Chair said.
The board also recognized Vida Taylor as the classified staff member of the month for February, nominated by Principal Russell. The proclamation described Taylor as dependable, a problem-solver and a regular support for administrators, teachers and paraprofessionals.
Sean Hayes was named faculty member of the month. The board highlighted Hayes’s music engineering class, which included a student project to produce and sell instrumental albums on Bandcamp, with students retaining 85% of the proceeds, providing hands-on experience in creative entrepreneurship.
The board read a proclamation recognizing Tanisha Vaughn as community member of the month for her volunteer service and work as Euclid High School PTA treasurer, noting efforts to modernize the PTA’s financial system to increase efficiency and transparency. The Chair said some honorees were not present but the board wanted to acknowledge their contributions publicly.
District communications staffer Mr. Ferlito will share photos of honorees with families and the board said it will post pictures online. The proclamations were read as formal recognitions in the meeting transcript; no formal vote or roll-call tally appears in the transcript.
