Parent alleges board member confronted husband at Berkshire High graduation

Jessica Cornera, who identified herself as a Burton resident and Berkshire parent, told the Berkshire Local School District board during public participation that she has filed a complaint alleging board member Brian Wadsworth confronted and physically pushed her husband on school property during Berkshire High School's graduation on May 18, 2025.
"At approximately 03:38PM, Mr. Wadsworth followed my husband into the parking lot where he confronted him in a manner that was not only unprofessional, but also threatening," Cornera said, adding their 15-year-old daughter was present. She described an alleged shove to her husband's shoulder and said the conduct overshadowed what should have been a joyful family celebration.
The complaint, delivered in public comment, also says Wadsworth previously sent private messages expressing displeasure with the husband's social media posts and that one message contained an ominous remark on May 1. Cornera said the incident prompted her to file a formal complaint and urged the board to take the conduct seriously.
An attending board member asked to respond and disputed Cornera's description of the contact, saying he approached the husband after seeing an online exchange and "shook his hand and said, when are we gonna get together?" He apologized if the encounter occurred in front of the Cornera family and said he had attempted private outreach. "I didn't throw my shoulder in," the member said.
Chair (who opened and ran the meeting) acknowledged the public comment later in the meeting and said the matter "was addressed" and that he had spoken to involved board members "as a group or individually, depending upon what the circumstance was." The board did not take a public vote on the complaint during the meeting, and public participation was closed after the exchange.
No formal disciplinary action or next steps were announced on the record at the meeting. The complaint remains on file with the district according to Cornera's remarks, and the chair said he had addressed the matter privately with board members.
