Fredonia board outlines $100,000 outlay, playground upgrades and schedules capital-project vote for Dec. 12

Staff said the design phase was nearly complete and described proposed safety improvements such as additional rubberized pathways under play equipment. The speaker said the Wheelock paving and flooring project recently wrapped up successfully and that this new outlay will follow the same process.
On the larger capital project, staff reported the district expected to present a formal resolution that finalizes the where-now study and ballot language at an upcoming meeting. Barring delays, the district planned a public vote on the capital project on Dec. 12 between 2 p.m. and 9 p.m. in the high-school cafeteria.
What’s next: The board will consider resolutions that finalize the study and ballot language; staff said the next meeting was moved to Oct. 17 to accommodate those agenda items. The district expects to post final details and the ballot language for public review prior to the Dec. 12 vote.
