Chair (S4) invited the Mackenzie Elementary student council to the front for induction. The group recited the student-council pledge and the board introduced student leaders. The board identified Abby as the student body president and noted Liliana and Alyssa as council members. Abby Carney was later recognized specifically for her work organizing the school's lost-and-found.
Several students received 'A-Okay' awards: Jeremy Pomerantz was honored for helping a bleeding classmate; Rory shared part of his lunch with a peer; Rowan Brady led board games to engage younger students during a recent power outage; David and Olivia were recognized for cheering up a classmate; Chase Rhodes and Brooke Morgan were also commended for helping classmates and classroom upkeep.
Board members thanked advisors and parents and encouraged continued student leadership and participation in extracurricular activities. The recognitions included photos and brief remarks from the board.
