At the Feb. 12 meeting the Chester Union Free School District Board added two personnel resolutions to the agenda and approved the consent agenda.
Chair moved to add a resolution authorizing the Board to sign an employment-related agreement with employee number 112024; a board member made the motion, it was seconded and passed by voice vote. The motion’s text was recorded in the minutes and the agreement was incorporated by reference.
The Board also approved adding resolution 5.12 accepting the resignation for the purpose of retirement of Melvin Westenberg effective close of business on June 30, 2026. That motion was made, seconded and passed by voice vote.
Finally, a motion to approve consent agenda items 5.11 through 5.12 was made and seconded; the consent agenda passed by voice vote, incorporating the newly added personnel items into the meeting minutes.
Superintendent O'Hara also briefed the board on a brief morning lockout handled in coordination with the Town of Chester Police; families were notified at 09:54 a.m. and regular operations resumed at 10:09 a.m. She thanked buildings and grounds staff and the Highway Department for storm preparations. O'Hara noted the district’s AI policy was placed on the consent agenda after being discussed as a first reading at a prior meeting; she said staff will use Ed Law 2-d–compliant platforms and pursue professional development before classroom adoption.
