On insurance, the director said an insurance claim for roof damage to the Maple Avenue building — caused by a microburst on July 3 that ripped the roof off the 1965 side of the building — has been under negotiation with NYSER for almost two years and appears to be nearing closure. He thanked staff who helped document losses and negotiate the claim.
A board member asked how long a public bid typically takes; the director said two weeks’ public notice followed by a bid opening and a leveling process, and typically 30–60 days overall to finalize contracting after approval.
