Board approves student overnight trip, personnel items and consent agenda

The board approved several routine and program items on the agenda, including a senior class overnight trip and a series of consent items and personnel matters.

Brady Briggs, vice president of the class of 2025, presented a proposal for an overnight senior trip to Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey, with a following day at the American Dream Mall; the board gave approval to allow students and staff to plan the trip. Briggs provided an itinerary and described fundraising and payment plans to accommodate students who might need financial assistance.

The board also moved to place on the table and approve professional development plans, curriculum change requests and consent agenda items including personnel actions. Administrators noted a staff resignation (George Marshall) and that the business office and others worked to support a successful budget and capital proposition vote.

Administration reported preliminary vote tallies from the district budget and propositions as read at the meeting; the transcript recorded the reported counts read aloud during the meeting (reported in the transcript as "411 yes to 183 no" for the budget and similar tallies for propositions). The district said final results required tally completion and that write‑ins and ballots were still being opened.

Board members adopted a reorganization meeting date for July within the first 15 days to comply with statutory timing requirements and approved summer school positions and summer staff assignments listed on the agenda.
