Board approves grouped resolutions, accepts HIB findings; recusals noted on select items

The Secaucus Board of Education voted to adopt multiple grouped resolutions across governance, personnel, curriculum and capital projects during the meeting and accepted the acting superintendent’s harassment, intimidation and bullying (HIB) findings.

A motion to accept the HIB findings was made and seconded; the roll call recorded affirmative votes and the findings were accepted and made available in administrative offices for review. The governance committee moved to approve grouped resolutions R1.01–R1.51 and R1.52–R1.53; the clerk conducted a roll call for the group. During the R1 roll call one board member announced recusals from R1.25, R1.37, R1.47 and R1.53, and another said they would recuse from R1.35. A board member stated a No vote on R1.25 while voting Yes on the remaining R1 items.

The board also adopted second‑reading policy resolutions (R2.01), education/curriculum items (R3.01–R3.03), finance and business resolutions (R5.01–R5.36), and buildings/grounds capital projects (R6.01–R6.10) after committee reports and roll calls. A motion to approve multiple 2024–25 school‑year resolutions (R2024.01–R2024.15) was made, seconded and placed to roll call. The meeting record shows the motions were seconded and roll calls were completed; no detailed vote tallies for each member on every grouped resolution were read aloud in full beyond the individual roll‑call responses captured in the minutes.

No ordinance or board resolution that required further public hearing was tabled or postponed during this meeting; the clerk noted no correspondence and the board adjourned following member comments.
