The Lacey Township Committee approved a 45-day extension on Nov. 25 for two storage containers currently on property at 1902 Whitcomb Road, allowing the homeowner additional time to complete renovations.
A township representative told the committee the property had not previously received an extension and that the zoning officer may approve up to two additional 30-day periods; committee members discussed moving the deadline past the holidays and agreed a 45-day extension would be appropriate. One committee member made the motion for a 45-day extension, a second was recorded and the committee voted in favor.
No fines or enforcement actions were discussed in the public record. The extension would move the removal deadline into mid-January under the 45-day schedule discussed at the meeting; the township clerk noted the zoning officer retains authority to act on further short-term extensions according to local practice.
