MACCRAY board hears project updates, hiring news and adopts FY2026 long-term facilities plan

The MACCRAY School Board reviewed summer operations and construction progress, heard staffing updates and voted to adopt the district’s FY2026 long-term facilities maintenance (LTFM) plan.
An administrator reporting on operations said construction crews have moved sub-base material up to the track and that bleacher assembly is roughly 70 percent complete; underground electrical work and new light poles are also in progress. “Right now, they have it up to the track, and then the football field is at kind of a level right now, and now we'll begin to prep that for the turf itself,” the administrator said.
Staff reported near-complete hiring for teaching positions and announced that Todd Bertram has accepted the district’s elementary principal position; hiring progress was described as close to 100 percent of teaching positions filled. The board also received a technology update on a website migration to SWWC, outstanding wide-area network issues, and a planned August 1 installation of new copiers.
The board discussed the FY2026 LTFM packet in detail: revenue calculations tied to adjusted pupil units and building age, debt-service carryovers from past safety bonds, and line-item estimates for envelope, mechanical and maintenance categories. A staff presenter said the plan produces an estimated spending figure of $127,597 for the period under discussion.
Following discussion, the board adopted the 10-year FY2026 LTFM plan by roll-call/voice vote. The chair read a resolution adopting the long-term facilities plan and board members voted yes; the transcript records unanimous consent in the roll call portion although individual vote names are not fully enumerated in the record.
The board also approved a motion to move the November board meeting date from Monday the 11th to Tuesday (vote approved) and handled routine items including the filing notice for upcoming board-seat elections (filing period July 30–Aug. 13).
No contract awards or additional binding financial commitments beyond the LTFM plan adoption were recorded at the meeting. The meeting concluded after motions to adjourn.
