The MACCRAY School Board adopted a resolution certifying the results of the district’s general election and authorized the chair and clerk to issue certificates of election to the winning candidates.
Clerk (reading the resolution) stated that "the general election of the voters of the district held on 11/05/2024 was in all respects duly and legally called and held," and listed vote totals for District 1 (Ben Donner 229; Jason Noble 133; Andrew Vanderpool 67), District 3 (Carmel Tine 397) and District 6 (Julie Alsom 291). The resolution directs the clerk to certify results to county auditors and to prepare oath and acceptance forms; the clerk also noted that the successful candidates will be sworn in at the Jan. 13, 2025 board meeting.
The board then approved a related resolution authorizing the chair and clerk to execute and deliver certificates of election to Ben Donner, Julie Alsom and Carmel Tine, pending the statutory period for contest and any required campaign filings under Minnesota Statutes chapter 211.
In separate business the board adopted a motion to transfer funds from the general fund to eliminate a negative balance in community education. During discussion a trustee described the transfer amount as "a little over $310,000." The motion to adopt the fund-balance transfer was moved by Carmel and seconded by Scott and was approved by the board.
Roll-call confirmations were recorded during votes on the election canvass and certificate resolutions; trustees voting in favor during the canvass roll call included Scott, Deb, John and Carmel. The clerk was directed to certify election results to the appropriate county auditors and to issue certificates and oath forms to the successful candidates.
The board adjourned after completing business items.
