District reports 85% graduation rate and ELPA gains; special education disproportionality 'none'

Presenters said the district’s graduation rate reached 85% for the year in question — a rate above the state average and the highest the district has seen in several years — and that the dropout rate is below the state average. Staff also told the board the district reported no significant disproportionality in special education identification.
On language proficiency, presenters noted increases in ELPA (English Language Proficiency Assessment) results and said 37 students were identified as proficient this year and will exit ELD services, compared with 28 exits the prior year. Staff and board members discussed efforts to increase inclusive opportunities for students with disabilities and to support transitions across grade spans to reduce learning loss.
Board members thanked staff for the district’s outreach and for improving follow-up surveys about graduates’ post-graduation status; no formal vote was required for the informational report.
