The Sidney City School Board voted unanimously to approve the minutes, financial reports and invoices and to adopt the district's annual appropriation resolution.
Finance staff reviewed the August financial narrative, reporting that "revenues collected for the fiscal year exceeded expenditures at this point by $4,800,000," and that the general fund balance in August was "just over $24,000,000." Staff said the appropriation total increased by about $4,000,000 from last year, mainly to cover salary and purchase-service increases.
The board chair called for and recorded votes on the minutes/financial reports and on the annual appropriation resolution; in both cases members voted in favor and the motions carried. Staff noted federal program receipts are down compared with the previous period and said they are monitoring expenditures such as supplies and capital projects.
Board members asked no follow-up questions during the financial presentation. The approvals move the district toward meeting the auditor filing deadline described by staff.
