Consultant signals possible closure of Loyalsock elementary in preliminary SiteLogic assessment

SiteLogic consultants gave the Montoursville Area School District board an update on May 14, saying their early facility assessment of the district’s elementary buildings—particularly Loyalsock—shows conditions that may not support continued long‑term use.
Wayne Brookhart, a senior business consultant with SiteLogic, said the firm began field surveys late in January and is coordinating with Crabtree Rohrbaugh (the district’s prior study) and the district’s architect. Melissa Colstock, SiteLogic’s director of deliverables, said the firm is focused on operational efficiency, asset condition and educational program delivery. “The initial facility assessment of Loyalsock building conditions right now for us is not justifying long term continued use,” she said, adding that SiteLogic will continue its review and expects to provide preliminary recommendations in June.
Colstock said any recommendation would not be made in a vacuum: SiteLogic plans additional discussions with district staff and the architect to verify projected operational cost reductions and to test how consolidation would affect educational programming and student proximity to facilities.
Board members requested a copy of SiteLogic’s report; the presenters said they would distribute the preliminary findings and return next month to review recommendations in more detail.
Next steps: SiteLogic will finish the study, provide a written report and present preliminary recommendations in June; the board will use that material to inform any decisions about consolidation or building projects.
