Great Valley SD dedicates new 5–6 Center and opens building for community tours

Great Valley SD held a dedication and open house Oct. 15 for the new Great Valley 5–6 Center, a 166,000-square-foot facility for students in grades 5 and 6. School board members, administrators, teachers, students and residents gathered in the early evening to celebrate the completed construction and the opening of the building.

District leaders delivered brief remarks at the dedication. The event included comments from the superintendent, the school board president and school principals, the moderator said, and attendees were then invited to tour the facility’s flexible learning spaces.

Students from the center shared reflections during the program. "The new 5–6 center is amazing," said a student from the new center, praising the consolidation of elementary grades and thanking the broader Great Valley community for helping realize the project. Later, another student thanked the community and said the district will use the building to help cultivate strong learners: "We are taking a state-of-the-art building to create state-of-the-art human beings," the student said.

The moderator also encouraged community members to tour the 166,000-square-foot building to see firsthand the flexible learning environments and features designed for collaboration and creativity. No formal votes or board actions were recorded in the program portion of the event, and organizers described the evening as a ceremonial dedication and open house.
