District task force brings draft AI policy for board review

The Conestoga Valley Superintendent reported that the district's artificial‑intelligence task force has drafted a policy to guide staff, students and parents on use of AI.
Dr. Hartman said the task force reviewed Pennsylvania School Boards Association (PSBA) recommended language, made modest local adaptations and has a document ready for board review. "We have a document that we feel is ready to bring to the board for review," Dr. Hartman said, adding that staff intend to attach the draft policy to the 200s policy review and that it is not yet a first reading.
Board members had no substantive concerns at the meeting; the policy will be available for review in advance of the March first‑reading schedule for the 200s policy set. Administrators said the policy is intended to provide clear guidelines for staff, students and parents about how AI may be used instructionally and organizationally.
