A district presenter said the bureau’s 2017 fee schedule would have amounted to about $11,500; the bureau’s proposed rates for the July 1, 2025–26 fiscal year would raise that figure to roughly $15,500, excluding postage, a difference of about $4,000 under the proposed schedule. "Using the current rates from 2017, were $11,500. If we apply the new collection rates that they're proposing, the collection would be basically $15,500," the presenter said.
Board members asked whether the bureau could increase fees annually; the presenter said future increases would be capped by the accumulated Act 1 index. The board did not take final action at the Feb. 10 meeting and will consider the item on the consent agenda at the next meeting.
