The Oley Valley School District board on Tuesday introduced a motion to authorize budgetary transfers for the 2024–25 fiscal year as part of standard year‑end closing procedures.
"The first one is to authorize the budgetary transfers for the 24‑25 fiscal year, as required for the year end closing," said Mrs. Corral, who presented the motion. Board members asked for clarity on whether the board would be told which accounts are reclassified; staff responded that transfers commonly result from auditors reclassifying account codes and some years require only a few or none.
District staff said these transfers are typically administrative steps tied to the audit process rather than policy changes. Mrs. Corral also reported that the proposed final general fund budget for 2025–26 was submitted to PDE on June 17 and that a spring payment of $125,000 had been received and deposited into Tompkins Bank.
The board was not asked to approve specific transfer amounts at the public meeting; staff said details are part of audit work and that the transfers allow the auditors to complete year‑end classifications. The board will consider the motion on the formal agenda when it is brought forward for action.
The meeting adjourned to an executive session on legal and personnel matters shortly after the public business was completed.
