Resident asks board to consider high-school gymnastics; district says surveys are coming

During public comment at the Dec. 16 meeting, resident Eileen Holderhoff asked the board to consider establishing a high-school gymnastics team to retain students who train with local clubs.
"Many of them drop out when there is no high school team to continue with," Holderhoff said, and she asked whether a survey of interest would be distributed districtwide.
Athletic staff said a survey covering gymnastics, girls flag football and boys volleyball recently went to high-school students and that the district plans to expand distribution to middle-school grades at the start of the new year. The board agreed to share survey results with the public when they're available.
No formal action on adding a gymnastics team was taken at the meeting.
