The Saco School Board voted Tuesday to elect Jen Preble as board chair and Sarah Truman as vice chair.

Board member LaFortune introduced the agenda addition to conduct the annual officer selection and said the item is typically handled after elections to allow new members to serve. LaFortune said the board has discussed rotating leadership to create opportunities for other members to serve as chair and vice chair.
Following the votes members agreed the new chair and vice chair will confer with other board members to reassign committee memberships and confirm preferences for committee service.
The board took no additional formal action on committee assignments during the meeting. Adjustments to committee rosters are expected to be coordinated by the new chair and vice chair in the weeks ahead.
