The Saco Public Schools board approved personnel actions and several policy second readings at its Aug. 10 meeting while declining to approve the previous meeting minutes.
A motion to approve minutes from July 20 failed after members raised concerns about the level of detail in the minutes and the noting of tardiness; School board member Johnston argued "our minutes do not have enough meat with them" and requested arrival times be recorded when tardiness is noted. The board agreed to revisit the minutes at a later meeting.
On personnel, School board member Truman moved to approve a slate of hires including classroom teachers, counselors, an instructional coach and a human resources manager; the motion passed on a 6–0 roll‑call vote. Truman also moved to accept several resignations (teachers and counselors) effective immediately; that motion likewise passed 6–0.
On policy, the board approved the second reading of multiple administrative and superintendent evaluation policies (listed in board materials) by unanimous roll call.
No board member proposed substantive amendments to the personnel approvals or the policies during the meeting. The board adjourned at 7:50 p.m.
