Saco board honors 13 retiring staff members across four schools

The Saco School Department used its meeting to recognize 13 retiring staff members across Burns School, Young School, Fairfield School and Saco Middle School, noting a combined total of roughly 280 years of service.
At Burns School, Mrs. Noble described five retirees — including occupational therapist Pat Moulton (22 years), Carol Powers (30 years), Kathy Moody and others — praising their advocacy for students, leadership in special education and long service to families and staff. "She's always going and advocating for things they can do to support their students with needs at home," Mrs. Noble said of Pat Moulton.
Representatives from Young School praised administrative assistant Lori McKinney and first-grade teacher Erin Rudy (18 years). A Young School speaker said of Rudy: "She was able to get down and connect with this child and touch his heart so quickly."
Fairfield staff honored Sherry Colville (not present), Lisa Arnold (22 years) and outgoing principal Maureen McMullen, who staff described as highly visible and supportive over 24 years. Principal and staff remarks highlighted Maureen McMullen's long tenure and daily presence in the building.
Principal Rodman presented three Saco Middle School retirees: ed tech Chris Worth (15 years), teacher Larry Reinhardt (16 years) and counselor Janice Johnson (21 years), noting contributions to special education, gifted-and-talented programming and student support services.
Board members invited all retirees to the front for a photo and extended thanks; several trustees offered personal comments of appreciation later in the meeting.
