Gorman Foundation grama, that we've put in with SACCOSTeAM as our sponsor,” he said, describing a grant proposal to support food, housing and emergency assistance for students and families. On facilities planning, Ray said the district’s site-selection committee has narrowed available parcels to three and will schedule public meetings and spring vernal-pool testing so the process is not delayed by seasonal constraints. He encouraged board members and the public to sign up for building tours on March 14 and March 17 at 4 p.m. at Saco Middle School.
Ray also summarized programming and summer-school planning: the district is programming ELL and special-education summer offerings, has Title III funds available for English-language learners and is contracting with APEC Youth Connections to hire a half-time liaison funded through a state grant to help displaced students and families.
