Elections staff outlines ballot mailings, testing and voting dates

Elections staff said the office made the sample ballot map available on the department website and confirmed the timeline for ballot mailings and public testing ahead of the upcoming election.

“The order of the proposition text as well as the numbers” is available on the website and a sample-ballot map lets voters view their ballot style, Elections staff said. “That's on our website,” the staff member said, directing voters to muni.org/elections to find local ballot information.

Staff reported ballots have been sent to the printer. “The military and overseas are scheduled to be mailed out on March 2,” the staff member said, and domestic ballots are set to be mailed March 17. Logic-and-accuracy testing of the tabulation and scanning system is scheduled for March 5 at 10 a.m. at the Election Center; staff said the test is open to the public and that commission members are encouraged to attend.

Key administrative dates provided by staff included a voter registration deadline of March 8, deployment of drop boxes and voter drop-off starting March 17, and vote centers opening March 31. Staff also explained that voters traveling during the election may apply to vote at a temporary address by email, fax or secure document portal.

The staff member concluded the update by directing the public to the elections website for hours and vote-center locations and reiterated that the L&A testing is open to observers.
