At its Sept. 22 meeting the North Richland Hills City Council approved an amendment to the ordinance that adopted the 2025 tax rate to correct a missing disclosure sentence required by state law.
Staff emphasized the amendment does not change the adopted tax rate, which remains below the no‑new‑revenue rate. Chase (speaker 4) explained the omission involved the required formatting and phrasing for the no‑new‑revenue maintenance and operations rate in the adopting ordinance; council approved the amendment to Ordinance No. 39‑24 to add the required language, with staff noting the language will be posted on the city website.
Council also considered appointments to the Youth Advisory Committee. Paulette (speaker 9) presented recommended appointments of up to eight new student members, and council approved the resolution putting the new members on the committee. The meeting included routine announcements and adjourned at 8:23 p.m.
Ending: The tax‑rate amendment is a ministerial correction to meet statutory disclosure requirements and does not change the tax rate. The appointed youth advisory committee members will be formally seated and photographed following the meeting.
