The Clawson Downtown Development Authority on April 16 approved a $3,500 agreement with consulting firm Giffels Webster to support the DDA's strategic-planning efforts.
City administration presented an updated proposal from Giffels Webster (dated March 19) that the administration said incorporated changes requested by the organization committee. Kristen Urbannick, representing city administration, told the board the firm had also assembled a community survey and that staff would circulate the survey and supporting materials after the meeting.
During discussion several members said they valued a “fresh set of eyes” on the plan since two Giffels Webster planners had previously worked with the city in different capacities. A motion to approve the proposal as presented passed on a roll-call vote with all members voting yes.
Why it matters: the contract funds consultant work that will shape near-term priorities and outreach for downtown development. Board members said they expect the firm to support public engagement and to return findings to the board for next steps.
