Rockville council approves consent agenda including Vision Zero audit contract and $1.5M Redgate Park grant application

The Mayor and Council unanimously approved the consent agenda covering a Vision Zero intersection safety audit contract (not to exceed ~$398,000), a parking enforcement services rider with IPS Group, a $1.5 million grant application to MD DNR for Redgate Park Phase 2, an electricity supply agreement with WGL Energy Services, and minutes approval.
On Feb. 23 the Rockville Mayor and Council approved the consent agenda items presented during the meeting.
The consent package included: (a) authorization for the City Manager to award a contract to Kittles and Associates for planning and engineering services for a Vision Zero intersection safety audit (amount not to exceed about $398,000) to examine roughly 30 intersections; (b) a rider agreement with IPS Group Inc. to continue parking enforcement management and citation processing; (c) authorization to enter a project agreement with the Maryland Department of Natural Resources to apply for a $1,500,000 grant for Redgate Park Phase 2 (grading, pathways, bridges, signage); (d) authorization for an electricity supply agreement with WGL Energy Services for a specified term; and (e) approval of minutes from previous meetings.
Councilor Michelle moved to approve consent items A through E; Councilman Valeri seconded the motion and the council voted all in favor by voice vote.
Mayor Ash noted the consent items advance Vision Zero and park projects and asked staff to continue monitoring cost pressures such as rising electricity prices and their budgetary impacts. The approved grant application will proceed through the state process; the contract and agreement items will be executed consistent with the approvals.
