Votes at a glance: Lakewood Planning Commission forwards three code and docket recommendations to council

On Oct. 2 the commission approved three resolutions by voice vote: (1) a resolution to implement local permit-review consolidation requirements, (2) a resolution restoring manufactured-home park/O&M language and adding RV/camping park standards, and (3) a resolution forwarding the 2025 comprehensive plan amendment docket (11 items) to city council.
At its Oct. 2 meeting the Lakewood Planning Commission approved three separate recommendations to be sent to the city council.
1) Consolidated permit-review code amendments (Resolution 2024-06). The commission voted to recommend code updates to implement consolidated project-review timelines and notice procedures referenced in recent state legislation. The motion was moved and seconded; the chair called a voice vote and the motion passed.
2) Manufactured-home parks and camping/RV parks (Resolution 2024-08). The commission recommended restoring development and operations language for manufactured-home parks that was inadvertently removed in 2019 and adopting standards applicable to camping and recreational vehicle parks should any be proposed in Lakewood. Commissioner Combs moved the item and Commissioner Larson seconded; the motion passed on a voice vote.
3) 2025 comprehensive plan amendment docket (Resolution 2024-07). The commission voted to forward the full draft docket — including seven items staff described as required by state law and several tentative topics such as a possible sales/use tax deferral for conversions, station-district expansions, and a study of reinstating industrial land use on the easterly portion of LRI's Sales Road parcel — to the city council for analysis next spring. The motion was moved and seconded and passed by voice vote.
In each case the meeting transcript records voice votes with commissioners saying "aye"; the transcript does not contain a roll-call tally of individual votes. Staff will transmit the commission's recommendations and supporting materials to the city council for their consideration in the schedule described by staff.
