At its meeting, the Sagadahoc County commissioners took a series of routine administrative votes to update policies and accept audit and reimbursement figures.
The board voted to add Patriot’s Day to the 2026 holiday schedule after a motion and second and approved the change.
The board approved and signed a set of safety and emergency-management policies: the updated Standard Response Protocol (an all-hazards approach that replaces the former emergency action plan), a hazard communications plan (reformatted with no substantive material changes), and the county safety manual.
Commissioners also approved an update to the county procurement policy to reflect recently issued FEMA guidance. Staff told the board the new guidance raises the small-purchase threshold to $15,000 and increases micro-purchase thresholds (the transcript references approximately $303,150 for micro purchases). Commissioners moved and approved the procurement policy packet with the updated sections.
The board reviewed and accepted the FY2022 audit report, which staff said is posted online and contains no auditor recommendations that would materially change county recordkeeping. Commissioners thanked staff for providing auditor files and confirmed the audit is available for review.
Staff reported the IRS updated its standard mileage reimbursement to 72.5¢ per mile for 2026 and the state rate to 56¢ per mile for some civil-service reimbursements; commissioners voted to continue using the IRS rate for employee reimbursement and the state rate where applicable.
On a policy related to community navigator provisions and donated funds, commissioners reviewed intake form procedures and voted to approve the policy and its handling of donated funds.
All motions taken during the business portion of the meeting were moved, seconded and recorded by voice vote; the transcript records “all in favor” for the approved items.
