Sykesville mayor administers oath to new officer Tina Koviak

Mayor administered the oath of office to newly appointed police officer Tina Koviak during the council meeting, and Officer Koviak repeated the oath affirming support for the U.S. and state constitutions and faithful execution of the office.
"I do swear that I will support the Constitution of the United States... and that I will to the best of my skill and judgment, diligently and faithfully... execute the office of police officer," Officer Tina Koviak (speaker 11) said as she repeated the oath. The mayor and council welcomed her aboard; Chief Spalding and others offered congratulations.
Council members and residents noted the value of the new hire and thanked the officer for committing to serve the community. The meeting proceeded with regular business after the brief ceremony.
