The Lincoln County Board of Commissioners approved a revised job description to upgrade the HR coordinator position to Human Resources Manager (graded as grade 16 and designated FLSA-exempt) and authorized posting the vacancy.
Staff said the duties had been reviewed against the countysalary and grading process and recommended entry at a mid-range step; after discussion about steps and hiring limits the board moved, seconded and approved the job description and the posting. "The job duties, responsibilities have been significantly upgraded versus what we currently have," the staff member said.
Separately, the board signed decisions in tax-abatement appeals: McKeever v. Nobleborough, Keller v. Nobleborough and Hardman v. Nobleborough; staff confirmed these were the decisions resulting from hearings held earlier in January and the commissioners approved each decision on motion and recorded unanimous votes.
At the end of the public meeting the board voted to enter executive session pursuant to 1 M.R.S.A. §405(6)(E) to discuss legal matters; the motion to enter executive session carried 3-0.
Why it matters: Upgrading the HR position changes responsibilities and hiring parameters for a key county role; signing tax-abatement decisions closes recent appeals and the executive-session vote signals ongoing legal work requiring closed deliberation.
