The Hall County Board reviewed multiple facilities items related to courthouse renovation and associated projects.
After comparing bids and vendor familiarity with the building, the board voted to award the elevator replacement contract to TKE for $176,000. Commissioners discussed warranty and vendor responsiveness as factors in favor of TKE despite a lower bid from another vendor. The board then moved funds for the elevator from ARPA and carried that motion.
Separately the board approved Heartland Testing Consulting to prepare asbestos-abatement bid specifications and post-abatement clearance services for an aggregate fee of about $2,300 ($1,850 + $450). The board also authorized the chair to sign a contract with American Fencing to install a heavy-duty fence for second-floor storage.
