Commissioners hear Tallgrass pipeline progress: easements obtained, corridor work largely complete

Chair (S2) relayed that Tallgrass reported 100% voluntary easements across the corridor through York County, with 82% of vegetation cleared, 68% of grading complete, 9% of pipe laid and 5% of boring work done. Chair (S2) said the company is progressing from south to north and that communications between Tallgrass and the county roads department have been good; harvest season ended which reduced some traffic conflicts.
Commissioners also noted community complaints about contractor driving behavior. Commissioner (S7) said he had raised the issue with project leadership and the county sheriff, and asked Tallgrass to address aggressive driving by contracted vehicles. Staff said the company’s local representative acknowledged the concern and that the county would follow up.
The county did not report any permit or easement disputes; the update focused on construction progress and traffic coordination. Commissioners said they will continue to monitor the route and contractor performance as work continues.
