Rochester outlines construction coordination and public maps as Mayo Clinic launches major downtown investment

Deputy City Administrator Cindy Steinhauser told the Rochester City Council on Feb. 10 that the city and its partners are preparing for an “unprecedented” level of downtown investment driven in part by Mayo Clinic’s roughly $5,000,000,000 project concentrated in about a 35-block area and numerous private- and public-sector projects that will overlap in time and place.
Steinhauser said staff developed draft guiding principles to center the city’s response around minimizing construction disruption, improving connectivity and coordinating communications and engagement.
