Dawn explained the city had received the money after Chick‑fil‑A obtained necessary permits and that the contribution is intended to pay for improvements in the area. “So, we will now that we have the money…they're they're agreeing with us because they had to get all their permits. And once they had all their permits, then they would send us the money,” Dawn said.
Staff said the city will begin design work “very soon” and plans to use some internal resources and select external contractors carefully so design costs do not consume the improvement funds. A council member noted that while the money allows improvements, it may not fully ‘fix’ a busy intersection but can reduce delays.
