The Glen Rock Board of Education moved to affirm two HIB resolutions at its Aug. 1 meeting. Both resolutions (identified in the meeting as SENT HIB 267618 and GRMS HIB 267518) recommended withholding employment and adjustment increments for employee numbers 045896 and 041548 for the 2024'5 school year and directed the board secretary to notify each employee of the decision and the reasons for withholding increments.
The board moved and seconded each resolution (Miss Stevenson moved and Mr. Hayward seconded for the first; Mr. Hayward seconded the second; motions were called and roll was taken). At the first roll call the board recorded two abstentions (Miss Calvez and Miss Carisola) and multiple yes votes; staff clarified that those members were not conflicted on the first HIB and offered a chance to change votes; one member indicated they would change. The minutes record that both motions passed. For the P42 and P43 resolutions, Miss Scarpelli stated she would abstain because she had not been present for the executive session regarding those items.
Each resolution instructs the board secretary to provide notice to the affected employee(s) of the board's decision together with the reasons for the withholding of the increments.
